The Roosevelt Community is the historical predominantly black neighborhood which proudly carries the name of the Old Roosevelt School. The Roosevelt Community Watch, Inc. was formed in June of 1997 when a group of concerned community residents met to discuss the safety, development and well-being of the community. Since the formation of the “Watch”, the community, along with Clover Town Officials, have made collaborative efforts to brainstorm and discover creative ways to strengthen and improve Community and Town relationships. Members are asked to attend monthly meetings which are held every 4th Tuesday of the month, pay dues, abide by "watch" code of conduct and share similar concerns about the development, safety and well-being of the community as a whole.
Our mission is to serve as a voice on issues relating to the development, safety and well-being of the community by advocating persistently for the essentials needed to enhance and strengthen community relationships.

Over the years we were awarded a $350,000 housing grant for renovating 14 homes in our area. The RCW was the 1998 recipient of the Citizens of the Year award. We were awarded the Shalom Zone Certificate. The watch spearheaded the development of the Stellie Jackson Enrichment Program. We were vocal in the beginning development of the Roosevelt Park.
Since the forming of the organization, RCW has been hosting an annual back to school bash for the Clover community. It has mostly been held at Roosevelt Park. We've partnered with numerous organizations over the years to help make this event successful each year!
We do some type of community clean up each month of the year. Sometimes we'll simply walk the streets and pick up trash and debris and other times we'll adopt a yard working with the home owner to help clean.
Throughout the year, the RCW host sessions within the community that speaks to mental health, financial literacy, credit repair, career readiness, life insurance, first time homebuyers and others.
